Jonathan Balcombe to visit Minneapolis

Join Jonathan Balcombe in a discussion of his new book, Second Nature: The Inner Lives of Animals. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 28, at 7:30 at Magers and Quinn Booksellers, located at 3038 Hennepin Avenue South in Minneapolis. Balcombe will also be at Grumpy’s Bar, 1111 Washington Ave S, Minneapolis, on Tuesday, April 27 at 7:00, to discuss his previous book, Pleasurable Kingdom.

Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection at Walk for Animals

We’ll be there to educate animal lovers about the importance of political action in improving the lives of animals in Minnesota. Stop by our booth to say ‘hello’!!

 

Low-cost companion animal vaccinations and microchipping

Clinic: Saturday, May 15, 2010, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

$20.00 suggested donation per pet for distemper combo & rabies vaccine. Low-cost microchipping available by the Humane Society for $20. A portion of proceeds benefits the Animal Humane Society. Spay/Neuter referrals available on site.

If you can, please bring a donation of cat food, laundry soap, or dish soap for the church’s food shelf. Cat food most urgently needed.

Forum on Feline Overpopulation

Sponsored by The Minnesota Conference and Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association, this conference will feature speakers from around the country addressing the problem of overabundance of cats in shelters in Minnesota.
