Minnesota Animal Protection (MAP) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit which is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. MAP provides education and resources to a variety of entities in the community: education is provided via school and community presentations on animal welfare issues, and research done on animal protection issues in the State of Minnesota is shared with the public and policymakers.
Minnesota Animal Protection (MAP) is the affiliated sister organization to Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection (MVAP). Minnesota Animal Protection does research and education in service of the prevention of cruelty to animals and works closely with Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection, which works politically to protect all animals in Minnesota. Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection is a 501 (c)(4) nonprofit, which allows MVAP to do unlimited lobbying and election work.
Donations to MAP are tax-deductible. Donations to MVAP (because of its political work) are not tax-deductible.
In 2011, MAP presented to hundreds of elementary, high school, college, and graduate students on these topics:
- Puppy and kitten mills
- Animals in entertainment
- The captive wildlife crisis
- Legislative action for animals
In 2012 we’d like to reach even more students, and be able to expand our list of topics offered.
Your donation will go directly towards expansion of our humane education program, allowing us to do the research required to create the presentations, to compile and generate accessible resources, and to continue to pay our presenters a modest stipend.
Help our young people understand that their actions today can make a positive difference for animals. Please donate today!
